Description
Nessler Glasses(tube) Colorimetric Tube
A narrow glass cylinder with a flat bottom used in colorimetry (as in nesslerization) for comparing the colors of liquids.
Shape similar to ordinary test tube but more accurate than the test tube and equipped with a glass stopper, and the tube wall thinner than ordinary tubes, the common specifications are 10mL, 25mL, 50mL and 100ml.
Nessler's colorimetric tube is a kind of colorimetric tube. The general colorimetric tube is divided into two types: with a plug and without a plug, and a Nessler colorimetric tube is a colorimetric tube without a plug. For the determination of ammonia by Nesslerization. Currently widely used in pharmaceutical analysis operations. Common specifications are 10mL, 25mL, 50mL, etc.

Function of colorimetric tube
The colorimetric tube is the main instrument for visual colorimetric analysis experiments in chemical experiments, and can be used to roughly measure the concentration of solutions.
Instructions
Step 1. Use a burette to drop the standard solution into several colorimetric tubes (assuming that the colorimetric tube is of VmL specification, and the standard solution concentration is a), and the volume of the standard solution dropped into each colorimetric tube is different (assuming that X1, X2, X3...), and then add distilled water to each colorimetric tube with a dropper to the scale line, cover the stopper and shake well, so that each colorimetric tube can be dripped according to the standard solution and the burette. The volume of the standard solution in the tube calculates the concentration of the solution in each colorimetric tube (the solution concentration in each colorimetric tube is aX1/V, aX2/V, aX3/V...).
Step 2. At this time, put the solution to be tested into another colorimetric tube, and then compare the colorimetric tube containing the solution to be tested with the standard solution prepared before (colorimetry is to compare the colors), The concentration of the solution to be tested can be roughly obtained.
Step 3. During colorimetry, compare the colorimetric tube containing the solution to be tested with one colorimetric tube containing the standard solution at a time. When comparing, place the two colorimetric tubes in front of white paper with the same light level, and use the naked eye to compare the colorimetric tubes. Observe the color difference.
Precautions
1. The colorimetric tube is not a test tube and cannot be heated, and the wall of the colorimetric tube is thin, so it should be handled with care;
2. The same colorimetric tube should be used in the same colorimetric experiment;
3. When cleaning the colorimetric tube, do not scrub with a stiff brush, so as not to damage the tube wall and affect the light transmittance.
